Sunday was a milestone. I stood as a vendor at my first metaphysical event, doing deep energetic work, channeling messages, and stepping fully into my purpose. It was beautiful. I felt the flow, made amazing connections, and experienced that deep soul-fulfillment that tells you: Yes, this is the path. I was sitting in deep gratitude, recognizing that I am meant to receive these energies—and material abundance—in order to channel them out to those in need.
But then, the “imposter hangover” hit.
Before closing my eyes last night, my brain fixated on one specific reading. A client wanted specific details. When that happens, my system hits a wall. The pressure forces me out of my intuitive flow and right into my analytical mind, shutting the transmission down. Although the client was fine with not getting the specific information, my brain twisted this into a loud narrative of ineptness. I fell asleep holding that cold weight.
And then, my subconscious put on a high-stakes simulation.
The Hypnopompic Classroom: Where the Soul Rewrites Code
In the early morning hours, I entered a vivid hypnopompic state. This is that liminal, half-awake, half-asleep threshold you cross right before fully waking up. Mechanically, your brain is firing theta and alpha waves simultaneously. It is a natural twilight state where the logical ego hasn’t fully booted up yet, leaving the door to your deep subconscious wide open. This makes it the prime state for profound energetic recalibration.
My subconscious used this threshold to stage a test, and it manifested physically. I dreamed I was with a deceased client of mine. But the roles were flipped: she was alive but close to death, and I was a ghost. I didn’t know I was dead, and I hadn’t crossed over because of “unfinished business.”
In the dream, I got depressed and started to feel a terrifying, freezing cold. Yet when I woke up, I was physically sweating through my sheets. My energetic body was feeling the contractive freeze of my own self-doubt, while my physical body was working in overdrive, literally sweating out the dense cellular debris of the old timeline.
Instead of giving up—which was my old ancestral default setting when hit with failure—my system overrode the loop. I persisted. I chose to keep going through the cold, knowing there was a lesson, and even sought out a friend who could communicate with spirits. In the dream, I realized my purpose was to help other ghosts who were lost or stuck in limbo.
The Ultimate Cosmic Irony
When I fully woke up, the metaphor hit me with a layer of irony that shook me to my core. In my waking practice as a Shaman, I literally cross ghosts over. I work with spirits who are stuck in limbo, helping them transition to the other side.
Yet here I was in my own dream, playing the role of the confused, stuck ghost who didn’t even realize they were dead.
My guidance team was using my own shamanic profession to show me my ultimate blind spot. By fixating on my perceived flaws from the event, I allowed my own mind, doubt, and harsh self-criticism to essentially kill off my identity as a clear channeler. I was trapping myself in a cold, negative, self-defeating loop—acting like a ghost in my own life because I was refusing to cleanly cross over into my expanded power. The entire lesson of this freezing simulation was to recognize exactly how I was doing this to myself, snap out of the illusion, and actively take my power back.
The “unfinished business” wasn’t the client reading. It was my lingering habit of self-judgment.
The Cosmic Friction: Macro-Astrology vs. Fluctuation
Our personal energetic shifts don’t happen in a vacuum. If you looked at the astrological weather this week, you would have seen transits screaming about a macro-pattern of Reward, Test, and Hold. First came a harmonious alignment bridging spiritual expansion with reality (the Reward), followed immediately by a harsh square creating mental friction and confronting us with inadequacy (the Test).
But astrology is a macro-map, not a rigid train schedule. Many highly sensitive people, healers, and channels don’t experience transits exactly when they hit “zero degrees” on a chart. Our internal timelines are fluid. Sometimes we act as energetic early-responders, processing the wave a day before it peaks in the collective. Other times, we are on the back end, integrating the debris.
For me, I felt the shift early. My reward arrived on the 30th with the fulfillment of my live event. My test arrived on the 31st, manifesting as that freezing hypnopompic dream.
Turning the Waters Back On
The morning after the dream, my divination tools confirmed the exact energetic battlefield: I pulled the Eight of Swords (the prison of the mind) and Laguz Reversed (stagnated intuitive flow), combined with the Seven of Cups (the illusions and worst-case scenarios we hallucinate when we are afraid).
I realized I was trying to read a feeling-based transmission with an analytical brain. Getting lost in my head about that one reading was the exact thing causing the intuitive water to stop flowing. The Seven of Cups was warning me that I was looking at a phantom problem.
When you are in a massive transitional state, judgment and criticism are often the last things standing in the way of fully stepping into your power. Your system will occasionally run “simulation tests” in your sleep to see if your new timeline can hold its ground under pressure.
Moving From Savior to Locksmith: The Ultimate Shift
As I sat with this dream and began dissecting the layers of cosmic irony, the realizations kept spiraling deeper, triggering an immediate wave of physical heat in my body—the unmistakable somatic signature of a core truth being unlocked.
I used to help cross spirits over, but I had stepped away from the practice. I had to become the ghost to remember that they need help, too. But the lesson wasn’t about going back to the old way of doing things. It was a complete paradigm shift.
In traditional energy work, we often try to “rescue” stuck spirits or clients, doing the heavy lifting for them. But in the dream, no one came to rescue me. I was freezing, depressed, and felt entirely inept—yet I was the one who chose to persist. I was the one who decided to find the lesson and push through.
The ghosts, the clients, the people stuck in limbo—they are my mirror, and I am theirs. They are not helpless. They possess the innate capability, the sovereignty, and the power to go home on their own. The energy of a haunted house and the energy of a haunted mind are exactly the same; both are just loops of past trauma and self-judgment.
We are not just living a linear life; we are quantum timeline weavers. When we pop around into different feelings, past ancestral memories, or future versions of ourselves, we are sweeping our energetic grid. By fighting my way out of the freezing cold of my own self-criticism inside that dream, I retroactively cleared parallel timelines where the doubt used to win. I reached backward through the web, found the version of me that was acting like a stuck ghost, and integrated them into my current, empowered shamanic frequency.
My purpose isn’t to rescue people from their cages. My purpose is to empower them to realize they are holding the keys. By mastering the blueprint to free myself from my own mind’s cage, I can now show others how to do the same.
To anyone else stepping into their purpose and feeling the sting of self-doubt today: your gifts don’t have to look like anyone else’s to be desperately needed. Trust the fluid rhythm of your timeline. The update is complete. Drop the judgment. Allow your authentic self to Be.
